Highlighting the topic ‘Designing For Absurdity’ in a semester-long studio project we had to make a self-published book related to the process of ‘The Twisted Object’. Utilizing my understanding of the software Adobe Indesign, my publication has been structured using a basic, geometric layout paired with a standard font combination of Proxima Nova Bold and Brandon Grotesque.
The colour palette is limited to a monochromatic theme that gives a subtle background to the intricacy portrayed by pictorial elements. To add a little contrast to the black and white, yellow has been used in the colour palette since it signifies light which works in relevance with my chosen object, i.e.- ‘A Balcony Lamp’. Since my main material is hot glue, the textual form is inspired by the dripping effect to complement the concept of my project and give the simple layout a quirky outlook.
